Terms of Service

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set forth the conditions and procedures for using the "Uriel" mobile application and related IoT device services (the "Service") provided by Uriel Electronics (the "Company"), as well as the rights and obligations between the Company and users, and other necessary matters.

Article 2 (Definitions)

1. "Service" means the remote control and monitoring of IoT temperature controllers (such as URC02 and URC03) provided by the Company, together with related supplementary features.
2. "User" means any member or guest who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
3. "Member" means a user who has created an account through sign-up.
4. "Guest" means a user who uses the Service without signing up.
5. "Device" means the IoT temperature controller hardware manufactured by the Company.
6. "Provisioning" means the initial setup process of connecting a device to a Wi-Fi network and registering it with the cloud service.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)

1. These Terms take effect upon being announced to users through the Service screen or by other means.
2. The Company may amend the Terms for reasonable cause to the extent permitted by applicable laws, and amended Terms will be announced through in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect.
3. A user who does not agree to the amended Terms may stop using the Service and withdraw. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms constitutes acceptance of the amendment.

Article 4 (Sign-up and Account Management)

1. Users may sign up with a mobile phone number and must complete identity verification via SMS authentication.
2. Sign-up through social accounts (Kakao, Google) is also available.
3. Users must provide accurate information; any disadvantage arising from false information is borne by the user.
4. Users are responsible for managing their account credentials and may not transfer or lend their account to a third party.
5. Guest users may register and control devices without signing up; however, device data is managed per device only, and access from other handsets is limited.

Article 5 (Contents of the Service)

The Company provides the following services:

1. Device registration and provisioning: initial device setup over Bluetooth (BLE) and connection to Wi-Fi and the cloud
2. Remote control: temperature setting, power control, mode change, and scheduling
3. Device monitoring: real-time temperature and device status
4. Fault alerts: push notifications for sensor faults, overheating, and other anomalies
5. Device sharing: multiple users may register and use one device together
6. Multi-device management: manage multiple devices under one account

Article 6 (Use of the Service)

1. In principle, the Service is provided 24 hours a day, year round.
2. However, the Service may be temporarily suspended due to scheduled system maintenance, equipment repair, natural disasters, or other force majeure events.
3. An internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data) is required to use the Service, and data charges are borne by the user.
4. The BLE connection range of a device may be limited by the physical environment.

Article 7 (User Obligations)

Users must not engage in any of the following:

1. Signing up using another person's information
2. Using the Service in violation of laws or public order and morals
3. Intentionally interfering with the Company's operation of the Service
4. Reverse engineering, decompiling, or otherwise attempting to extract the source code of the Service
5. Modifying device firmware without authorization
6. Using the Service for commercial purposes without authorization
7. Any other act in violation of applicable laws

Article 8 (Company Obligations)

1. The Company does not engage in acts prohibited by applicable laws or these Terms, and strives to provide the Service in a stable manner.
2. The Company processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information.
3. The Company does its best to promptly restore the Service in the event of a failure.
4. The Company handles opinions or complaints raised by users through appropriate procedures when they are deemed legitimate.

Article 9 (Device Sharing and Multiple Users)

1. One device may be registered and shared by multiple users.
2. Users sharing a device have the same control permissions.
3. One user deleting a device does not affect other users' use of that device.
4. When the last user deletes a device, the device's cloud registration is completely removed.
5. The Company is not responsible for disputes between users arising from device sharing.

Article 10 (Intellectual Property)

1. Copyright and intellectual property rights in content created by the Company within the Service (app design, software, technology, etc.) belong to the Company.
2. Users may use the Service only within the scope of its intended purpose, and may not reproduce, distribute, broadcast, or otherwise use it, or provide it to third parties, without the Company's prior consent.

Article 11 (Restriction and Suspension of Use)

1. The Company may restrict or suspend use of the Service in any of the following cases:
   • The user violates the obligations under Article 7
   • The user interferes with the normal operation of the Service
   • The user commits an act in violation of applicable laws
2. The Company notifies the user of the reason when restricting use of the Service.

Article 12 (Withdrawal and Termination)

1. Users may withdraw at any time via Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app.
2. Upon withdrawal, the user's account information and personal information stored in the cloud are deleted immediately.
3. Re-registration with the same information is possible after withdrawal, but previous data is not restored.
4. If a device has other shared users, the device remains available to those users.

Article 13 (Disclaimer)

1. The Company is exempt from liability when it cannot provide the Service due to force majeure events such as natural disasters, war, or failure of service equipment.
2. The Company is not liable for Service interruptions caused by reasons attributable to the user.
3. The Company is not liable for Service instability caused by external factors beyond its control, such as physical device failure, the Wi-Fi environment, or internet connection conditions.
4. Connection reset due to a device entering standby mode is normal device behavior and can be recovered through re-provisioning.

Article 14 (Dispute Resolution)

1. Disputes between the Company and users shall be resolved through mutual consultation.
2. If consultation fails, the competent court shall be the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Company's head office.
3. Matters not stipulated in these Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the Republic of Korea.

These Terms take effect on April 1, 2025.
